MACROS vs. WW POINTS: THE VERDICT

If you want to lose weight and don't have the $$ to pay WW for whatever reason, here is the take on Macros after a few weeks.  THINGS TO REMEMBER:  I EXERCISE LIKE MAD. I am a perimenopausal woman in my mid-to-late 40s. I do endurance athletics.  I DO NOT EAT MOST OF MY "FREE" WEEKLIES. See above. It is beside the point that I exercise like a crazy person. I have tried to lose weight before with WW and it did not work using their "freebies"--one of the reasons I am trying again, and also because of the new Points structure I EARN UP TO 40-50 MORE WEEKLIES WITH EXERCISE. Again--see above. I hardly touch them. I might have a tiny piece of Dove chocolate as a treat on Sunday (the end of my week) and I don't count it, or if I do, it is about 4 points of the 70+ I have accumulated. The only other thing I don't really accurately track is my coffee with real half and half and sugar. Sorry: Manna from the gods is no place for the fake, fat free shit.  THE LOWDO...

Macros vs. Weight Watchers New Points

Another week, another 1.5 lbs. down (I think). I am on vacation, so it is hard to tell. The scale I have here is spring-based (gravity). I suppose I could go to (gag) WalMart to buy a digital one; but it would still not be the exact same scale at home, which means there will always be a difference.   That said, certain clothes seem looser--most notably, the swim suit I keep at our vacation place. I am still built like a marine mammal, and likely always will be. I mean, FFS, I swim ALL the time, and XC ski, and lift the occasional weights, so me and She-Hulk could swap clothes from the waist up.  The main point of today is to clarify that I am doing the legwork not a lot of people might think to do: Tracking the WW points in conjunction with my free Macros program. Macros as in: Macrobiotics--the fat, protein, and carbs eaten (+ all vitamins etc. because my Macros program is fucking awesome. And free).  Though I applaud WW for seeming to have come up with a viab...

Why Am I Doing This?

AUTHOR'S NOTE: I cuss like a sailor. This ain't no "Mommy Blog." Got a problem with it? Move along, Sailor Moon. If you are like me, you are: 1) Female 2) Hyper-athletic 3) Somewhat over-weight ("Fit-Fat") 4) Have problems losing weight 5) Peri-menopausal or menopausal 6) BEYOND FUCKING ANNOYED that everything about weight loss excludes #2 and the mantra is "Eat less, exercise more." Bitch, really? Like exercising 10-20 hours/week is not enough?  "The Rona" + 5 surgeries in 6 years + peri-menopause = Where the fuck did this 25+ extra pounds come from? I mean, yeah: I couldn't do group rides. But FFS, I was still riding 100-200 miles/week in summer. I never missed the 50K Birkebeiner Ski Marathon (or Vasaloppet) during that time, despite injuries etc.  Was I slower? Sure. But the weight is a bitch. And nothing was working. So I got complacent. So here I am. On Weight Watchers. Wait, what...? I tried it...long ago--after the "liver...
